Akbayan called for a public forum and Walden Bello is a public official, they are accountable to the people and being an administration party, should have been ready for criticisms and even protests.
It is unfortunate that instead of engaging in debate, they manhandled the youths and their media officer was even caught on camera mauling the protesters.
As our friends from the media can attest, the youths were sitting quietly for a significant part of the forum and listening to what Akbayan had to say. Clearly, they gave Akbayan a chance to squarely face the issues raised against them, once and for all. But when it was evident that Akbayan was merely rehashing its irresponsible claims of ‘red-tagging’ against those who sought their disqualification instead of addressing the points raised against them, the youths decided to take the floor.
The youths which attended the public forum were there to call on Akbayan to stop deceiving the public and stop claiming that they are marginalized and underrepresented, when clearly they are Malacanang-backed and their nominees appointed in gov’t. Malacanang’s statement defending Akbayan shows clearly the favor that Malacanang and government is giving them.
Meanwhile, more groups are campaigning to rid the PL system of Palace-backed parties. The PPCRV has joined the call to disqualify Akbayan, Black and White Movement and other Palace-backed groups.
This fact invalidates their claim that those who want to disqualify them are “extreme left” parties “envious” of them. For sure, this cannot be said about PPCRV.
Akbayan is trying to overstate their value by pointing to certain accomplishments, and claiming they are effective. Frankly, we do not care, they have already exposed themselves long ago as pro-Aquino functionaries and lackeys and it is for us no longer subject to debate.
However, they should stop claiming that they are oppressed, marginalized and underrepresented for that would be making a fool of the Filipino public.

Please check your lead paragraph. I think you forgot to edit. Syntax and coherence is problematic. Thanks.

This campaign you’re waging to disqualify Akbayan is a waste of energy. Tell me, should Kabataan partylist win seats, do you intend to stay out of the National Youth Commission? Or do you think simply that this will make it easier to picket the *inside* of Congress? Get real: You’re striking out against your own kindred spirit progressives, at a time in history that the Left needs to muster allies.

Get real: Akbayan is not progressive http://www.anakbayan.org/track-record-tracking-the-treachery-and-recording-the-deceit-of-akbayan-2/ With allies like that, we don’t need enemies.
